Since the 1.1 updated I've encountered a number of issues, two of which with high impact on the game:

  1. The third campaign mission has frozen on me twice. (I.e. stuck at "waiting" and never giving me my turn again). Happened again when I restarted the campaign from scratch. Going back to auto-save doesn't help, it just happens again. (I think i still have the saves, if you need them)
    1. This also happened to me once during a normal single-player game.
  2. "Commands" don't work properly any more. I can select the action "e.g. upgrade", the ship, but the third column never populates, and there's nothing there to select.
  3. The final is more a cosmetic issue. When the galactic event notification happens the "ideology" text isn't hidden. I see three rows of the text "Select" and three blue squares.

I had steam verify the client files (and it did download some again), but all of these issues have happened again since then.

EDIT

Just had the stuck turn issue again.

Also.. screenshots of issue 2 and 3.

I just played 1.1 half an hour but there are two things that catched my eye:

1) If I delete a message from the notification list, the messages disappear, reappear, clear button is greyed out for a second and starts working again. Now instead of deleting dozens of notifications each turn piece by piece (i really hope you add a clear all button), I can now wait 3-4 seconds in between every step. That is annoying to say the least.

2) If you change the manufacturing rate in the govern planet window, the time it takes to finish a project in the planet surface window is still not updating until you close and reopen the window.

I've had to re-verify the game every time I switch my PC on since 1.1 because map generation keeps breaking and populating very few stars. It seems to need to re-d/l 7 files every time...

I also had multiple frozen turn problems, but 1.11 appears to have fixed that.

There was definitely a stuck turn issue that we fixed in 1.11.

Re-verifying for star population seems really strange to me. The steam reverify is for files that your computer is updating, that is expected. Your computer is updating your bin files (we build them dynamically because you have local differences like custom ships or factions you have made, but we still ship the base files to speed up a new players initial start time). When you reverify it put back the base files, and when you run the game it notiices that you have local differences and rebuilds them. All normal behavior. But it shouldn't have anything to do with map generation.

Yeah, it's very weird. I generate a new map on insane with abundant etc, and the game produces a vast map but only adds in the home systems of all the players and nothing else. Then I verify the local files, get 7 inconsistencies, re-download 2.9MB and it's all fine again. It happened to me once in 1.03, but now seems to be a daily occurrence.

Have you installed a mod that changes anything at a starmap? Maybe the mod is malfunctioning with the new patch.

I use my own mod, yes, though I doubt that's interfering here; the issue occurs even when turning the mod off. It seems largely to be a corruption occurring in the base game folder. Since verifying clears the issue, I'm not hugely worried; it may just be some bad sectors on the drive or something. Just a bit weird that it wasn't problematic prior to the patch and now is, though.

Just had to kill another game after getting stuck turn again. Hope 1.11 is out soon. Updated OP with screenshots.

Annoying as fuck!

Is anyone having a stuck turn issue since the latest 1.12 was released?

Not seen it in 1.12 yet.

The other 2 issues are still there though  and also that stock ships only have point-defence.

Submitted ticket ZUQ-892-85462 for a stuck on idle ship condition.

These are bugs which  are related to the "normal" UI size, possibly on 1080p. Turn to "small" UI until it's fixed.

(Maybe that 3rd mission bug not)

I also noticed number 2.  But it also happens with the technology.  If I change my research totals in the govern screen, then mouseover the item I am researching in the upper right corner of the main screen, it refuses to update the number of turns needed until after I go into the technology screen and then exit back out to the main screen.

Also, mousing over the special mineral totals being mined (elerium, etc.) on the main screen shows the tooltip messed up.  The top lines are overwriting themselves and you can't read it.  Same thing happens in the ship designer.  I am playing in 1080p on normal UI size.

I've resolved the issues I had with Govern commands and the UI glitch with galactic events.

I uninstalled GalCiv3 completely, deleted GalCiv3 from ProgramData and from "my games" folders, then re-downloaded it. That resolved those two problems.

Just thought I'd mention that here in case anyone else has these issues. It seems that some temp data GalCiv3 creates can corrupt updates.
